Have you ever heard the saying, “Home is where the heart is?” When we hear the word heart in that sentence we know it’s not literally the organ beating in the chest. Where your heart lies in this sense is directed towards what you love, what guides you and brings meaning to your life. It’s tied in with the soul.
My mom knows I love planners, so she bought me one for my birthday. Its front cover says, “Plan out your future and make your dreams reality.” Whenever I read these words my mind goes to these two verses:
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.” Psalms 37:23-24(NLT)
Comparing lives through social media has been an ongoing issue. One thing I can say is that I get it! I’ve experienced thinking I wasn’t good enough because I’d see someone else’s”perfect life” in those squared photos. At least that’s what I thought. We do this on Continue reading
Motherhood has always come with its challenges. People will always have opinions on what a mother should or should not do. Five people on the right will be suggesting one thing while five on the left suggest the complete opposite. Hey I’m all for being teachable, but if you see a mom that prefers to do her mommy thing differently than you, you can’t force her to do what you would do as a mom. Every woman is made to mother in a unique way because her child is also uniquely made and different from yours. Each mom has her own style. Being welcomed into motherhood isn’t meant to be like entering into a competition. Continue reading
When I look back I start remembering it all so clearly and the feelings of being so embarrassed. Since I’m a grown woman now it does make it easier to share and honestly a good amount of time passing by always helps.
It all started in the 6th grade when I was going through the “awkward stage.” It was the first day of school. I recently got braces, never used a hair straightener and my favorite songs were probably from a Lizzie McGuire soundtrack, which was not cool anymore. On the first day of school I’d say Continue reading
While scrolling through social media there’s a good chance you’ve seen the image of a pineapple with the quote that says: “Be a pineapple: Stand tall. Wear a crown and be sweet on the inside.” I mean, who doesn’t want to develop into that? Did you know pineapples roots can extend past its leaves which can reach up to 5 feet long? It takes about six months just for the seed to sprout. During that time the baby plant can even be planted carefully into temporary growing containers. We see it takes a pineapple time to mature into what it’s supposed to be from the inside out. Continue reading
Have you ever asked yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing all because of the fact many others do the same thing you have a passion for? I’ve questioned myself on why I continue to write and keep up with my blog for that very reason. Then I remember, there is only one me who says things in a way only I can say them. That goes for you too! What you have to say in your own way I bet will touch somebody even if you’re questioning that. I tell you that from experience. It’s the same case in anything else; whether you’re a teacher, nurse, artist, photographer, etc. Even if Continue reading
